Chinkwell Tor is one of the latest and last cottages to be converted at Holwell. Completed just before Christmas 2007,
Chinkwell was originally the kennels for the farm and estate.
Located in the upper yard level, it is enclosed by a granite wall and has a sheltered lawned garden outside the
front door. It's elevated position affords great views over the roof of Hay Tor cottage below to Ripon Tor in the distance.
A large entrance hallway - ideal for lots of muddy boots, coats and soggy dogs ! opens up into a corridor leading to two groundfloor
bedrooms and family bathroom and a large open plan kitchen/living/dining room.

Upstairs there is a spacious "loft style" bedroom suite comprising ensuite bathroom and dressing area.

Together with Saddle Tor next door, these two cottages together are ideal for larger gatherings as they are separated off
from the other cottages and share their own drive. Between them they can accommodate up to 14 guests.

“ A stunning,
working farm with personalities to ensure our stay was maximised to the limit. Peter the farm manager could not do enough
to show the kids around the farm and the animals too; pigs, geese, hens, ducks, donkeys, dogs, horses and his favourite,
the cows (& the ram who thinks he's a cow) - who he talked to (and them back). Sebastian with his very dry sense of humour
was superb, as was Philippa his long suffering wife !! The farm is beautifully presented and the animals approachable and
accessible.

“
Holwell Farm is absolutely stunning. It is a luxurious, quiet and peaceful place, with great views and a unique atmosphere. The hosts Philippa and Sebastian Hughes are very nice people, always attentive and ready to help. We'll definitely come back.”

“
We loved our time at Howell Farm (in Hound Tor) The accomodation was perfect, so spacious, the location ideal for day trips to Torquay, Paignton, the Eden project etc. The farm is in the centre of Dartmoor national park so the generator switches off at 12, for us it wasnt an issue, but if you have young children, bring torches. Philippa and Sebastion were around if we needed them but we still felt independant which was perfect. Would love to stay again and would highly recommend the farm to anyone :)
