What a fantastic week for making hay...

What a fantastic week for making hay - a bumper yield all now safely gathered in. To think that just a few weeks ago we wondered if we would have to wrap the lot because of the prolonged period of rain.

Making hay at Holwell is like being on top of the world and a real privelage to do; especially in such wonderful sunshine.

Pony handling is coming on nicely now as well with long fine evenings and lots of guests to help "walking" with them once they are halter broken.

Had a super day at the beach - the one we recommend to all our guests is Mothercombe which is a stunning beach in the South Hams where the River Erme meets the sea. Miles of sandy beach surrounded by rolling farmland. Rockpools for the children to explore and shallows for paddling.

Lots of shows and fairs now that the schools have broken up and Regatta season is fast approaching in nearby towns like Dartmouth so you will be spoilt for choice.

This coming Autumn there is now limited availability so don't leave contacting us too late; Widecombe Fair is 11th September!
